Texas 4-H Conference Center, Lake Brownwood, Texas

The Texas 4-H Conference Center is geographically located in the center of Texas on the western side of Lake Brownwood on a plateau overlooking the lake. The terrain in the area is flat to sharply dissected, with numerous rocky outcrops on the steeper hillsides. Rocky slopes covered with scrub oak and native plum thickets line the nature trails and roadways permitting short walks suitable for gentle to challenging tastes. Local wildlife such as deer, raccoons, chaparral birds, and wild turkey are numerous.

The Texas 4-H Conference Center is owned by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M System. The 78 acre conference and retreat center opened in April 1975 and is in operation year round. Summer abounds with youth camps while the remainder of the year the facility is open to host corporate meetings, team building workshops utilizing the challenge course, family and class reunions and just about any type of meeting you can imagine. The Center is a great place to “get away… learn and play”.
